New Book About Gettysburg in the Works

A major new book about the Battle of Gettysburg is being developed by the publisher Wild River Press in partnership with the Gettysburg Anniversary Committee. Last year 16 still photographers worked the 150th anniversary reenactment and took some 38,000 images, one of which has been made into this striking 2 x 3 poster. The project will continue this year before, during and after our 151st event on July 4, 5 and 6. Publisher Tom Pero is looking for interested reenactors to help stage close-up small battle scenes, for as little as an hour to a full day. “The dirtier and the skinnier, the better,” he says. Please get in touch with Tom as soon as you can to coordinate the date(s) you might be available: tom@wildriverpress.com or by telephone at 425-486-3638. If you are not planning to be part of this year’s event, contact him anyway and he’ll send you his newsletter at no charge with future updates on the book.
